Colman-Egan girls, Viborg-Hurley boys win Centerville Invitational titles

CENTERVILLE — The Colman-Egan girls and Viborg-Hurley boys won team titles at Tuesday’s Centerville Invitational. 

The Colman-Egan girls racked up 92 points, finishing ahead of Centerville (80) and Deubrook Area (65). The Viborg-Hurley boys recorded 89 points, finishing ahead of Deubrook Area (72.5) and Hamlin (67). 

Colman-Egan’s Daniela Lee was a double winner in the 100-meter dash (:12.3) and 200-meter dash (:26.2). Lee, Lanie Mousel, Reese Luze and Josie Mousel also won the 800-meter relay for the Hawks in 1:46.5.

Menno’s Ashton Massey was a triple winner in the 100-meter hurdles (:16.0), 300-meter hurdles (:48.2) and triple jump (33-8). 

Hamlin’s Gracelyn Leiseth won both the shot put (49-2) and discus (163-0). Hamlin’s Kami Wadsworth finished second in the shot put (42-9), discus (130-0) and won the javelin (110-11). 

Chester Area’s Emery Larson was a double winner in the 1,600-meter run (5:24.4) and 3,200-meter run (11:34.0). Larson’s 3,200-meter run broke the Chester Area school record by 26 seconds. 

On the boys side, Viborg-Hurley’s Luke Campbell was a double winner in the 110-meter hurdles (:15.4) and 300-meter hurdles (:41.6). 

George Johnson won the 100-meter dash (:10.6), edging out Colman-Egan’s Christopher Lee (:10.8) for the win. Johnson placed second in the 200-meter dash in :22.3 seconds, finishing behind Chester Area’s Jovi Wolf (:22.2). 

Campbell, Chance Schoellerman, Devin Sayler and Johnson won the 800-meter relay in 1:33.4. 

Canistota’s Josiah Schroeder was a double winner in the 1,600-meter run (4:41.3) and 3,200-meter run (10:36.5).
