SIOUX FALLS —The field for the Howard Wood Dakota Relays Special Event 200 meter dash is set and features two athletes from South Dakota.

Colman-Egan junior Daniela Lee and Mount Vernon/Plankinton junior Berkeley Engelland will participate in Friday’s race that features athletes from South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota.

The girls high school record for the 200-meter dash is held by Dash Caldwell of Chanhassen, Minnesota (:23.59) set in 2016.

Ellse Wisnewski, Central Cass, ND: Wisnewski is a seven time ND state champ, with class B titles in the 100 meters, 200 meters and long jump to go with three sprint relay crowns. She has a 200 meter personal best of :24.92.

Daniela Lee, Colman Egan: The junior is the defending 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash state champion and anchored the Hawks to titles in the 400 meter relay and 800 meter relay. Her personal best in the 200 meter dash is :25.66.

Brooke Hohenecker, Providence Academy, MN: Hohenecker is the defending Minnesota champion in the Class 2A 200 meter dash. She also finished second in the 100 meter dash aSnd third in the 400 meter dash. She has a personal best of :25.08. Hohenecker is the daughter of Amy (Von Wald) Hohenecker, who was a state champion in cross-country and track and field at Hoven. She was later an All-American track and field athlete at Northern State.

Berkeley Engelland, Mount Vernon/Plankinton: Engelland is a six time South Dakota state track champion. She has a personal best of :25.54 set this year. She was the runner-up in the 2022 Girls Special 800 meter run.

Kelsie Belquist, New Rockford-Sheyenne, North Dakota: Belquist is the Class B reigning champion in the 200 meter run, 400 meter run, 100 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles. Belquist holds the North Dakota Class B state meet record in the 200 meter dash.

Cece Deebom, Fargo Davies, North Dakota: The University of Nebraska commit owns the North Dakota state record in the 100 meter hurdles and long jump and ranks in the top three in both the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash. She is the reigning Howard Wood Dakota Relays champion in the 100 meter dash and 100 meter hurdles.

Jazmin Barry, Dickinson, ND: Finished second in the North Dakota state track championships in the 300 meter hurdles (45.33) and long jump 18-4.25. Finished fourth in the 200 meter dash :25.16 and 400 meter dash.

Elliana Harris, Sioux City East, Iowa: Finished fifth in the 2022 Iowa state track championships in the 200 meter dash :25.25. Has a season’s best of :25.41 in the 200 meter dash.

Alternate: Linnea Nesheim, Sioux Falls Lincoln: Finished eighth in the 100 meter dash at the 2022 South Dakota state track meet. Has the third fastest 100 meter dash in Class AA this season (:12.51) and the second fastest time in the 200 meter dash (:26.21) this season.
