SIOUX FALLS — The Class A track and field favorites, Sioux Falls Christian, handled its business on day one of the state track meet. 

The Charger girls won the 3,200 meter relay (9:37.47), and set a meet record in the sprint medley relay in a meet record time of (4:07.21). The Chargers scored 20 points, ahead of Lennox (16). Dakota Valley (11), West Central (11) and Sioux Valley (9) round out the top-five.

The Sioux Falls Christian boys broke meet records in the 3,200 meter relay and sprint medley relay Thursday. Discus thrower Paul Hoekman was fifth in the discus (145-3). The Chargers amassed 24 points, ahead of Lennox (14.5) and Deuel (11). Milbank (10), Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (10) and Platte-Geddes (10) round out the top-five. 

Girls state champions: 

3,200-meter relay: 1. Sioux Falls Christian, 9:37.47 (Corinne Braun, Sadie Pettengill, Natalie Smith, Ellie Maddox). 

Sprint Medley Relay: 1. Sioux Falls Christian, 4:07.21 (Bremma Beyke, Ashlee VanDriesen, Katie VanderLeest, Anna Vyn).

Triple jump: 1. Molli Thornton, West Central, 35-4.75. 

Boys state champions: 

3,200-meter relay: 1. Sioux FallsChristian, 7:54.51 (Bennett Wassenaar, Alex Oberloh, Davis Buck, Isaac Davelaar).

Sprint Medley Relay: 1. Sioux Falls Christian, 3:33.75 (Jahaeim Reuer, Johnny Skyberg, Noah Schroder, Davis Buck). 

Discus: 1. Lee Reiser, Platte-Geddes (177-5).
