A year ago the Sioux Falls Christian boys broke three meet records on their way to piling up (133.6) points more than doubling up second-place Milbank (66). While the Chargers may not have the horsepower that helped them break the Class A record for points at a state track meet, Sioux Falls Christian looks to be in the driver’s seat as the state track and field meet starts Thursday.

Sioux Falls Christian has Class A’s best times in the 400-meter relay (:43.80), the 800-meter relay (1:29.96), the 3,200 meter relay (8:10.13) and the sprint medley relay (3:33.72).

Junior Isaac Davelaar has Class A’s best time in the 800-meters (1:53.78) and 1,600-meter runs (4:25.08) while fellow junior sprinter Josiah Adams is ranked No.2 for the 200-meter dash (:22.58) and Class A’s best time in the 300-meter hurdles (:40.11). The Chargers have two shot putters, Jaden Witte and Paul Hoekman ranked in the top six and two long jumpers Kennan Voss and Eli Gillett who have both jumped (21-1) this season. Voss has the third best triple jump (42-8) entering the state track meet.
