VERMILLION — South Dakota prep athletes had a number of outstanding performances at the Summit League indoor track and field championships on Feb. 25-26.  

For the women, former Harrisburg standout Erin Kinney (University of South Dakota) won the 60-meter dash (7.27) and 200-meter dash (23.96). Former McCook Central/Montrose standout Jacy Pulse (USD) won the 400-meter dash (54.48) and was on the Coyotes’ winning 1,600-meter relay team (3:46.59). That relay team also included former Rapid City Central standout Hannah Young.

For the men, former Bison standout and South Dakota State University junior Daniel Burkhalter won the 1-mile run (4:08.21). Former Watertown prep Pierre Lear also captured the 60-meter hurdles, 7.81. 

South Dakota Prep athletes that finished in the top-five of the Summit League indoor championships.
