Three track meets this week across South Dakota as athletes competed at the Mount Marty indoor meet Thursday and Friday. Our first outdoor meet happened in Rapid City Friday at the West River AA Preview.

Here are some of the double-winners and outstanding performers of the week. 

Mount Marty Class B Results: 

Boys Results: 

• West Central’s Layton Johson with the 60 Meter Dash (7.16) and 200 Meter Dash (23.25)

• Deuel’s Ricky Berndt won the 800 Meter Run (2:07.08) and was second in the Mile Run (4:45.12)

• The Gregory quartet of Finn Adams, Ryler Stevicks, Pierce Stukel, Luke Sinclair won the 3,200 Meter Relay (9:11.15)

• Platte-Geddes senior was second in the shot put (50-1)

• Ethan/Parkston’s Gage Hohn was second in the high jump (6-2)

Girls Results: 

• Mount Vernon/Plankinton’s Berkeley Engelland won the 60 Meter Dash (8.06), 200 Meter Dash (26.7) and 400 Meter Dash (58.99)

• McCook Central/Montrose’s Aubyn Schmidt won the event (37-9)

• Colman Egan’s Josie Mousel is coming off an injury and finished fourth in the high jump (4-10)

Mount Marty Class A Results: 

Boys Results: 

• O’Gorman’s Sam Castle won the 400 Meter Dash (51.34)

• Yankton’s Dylan Payer won the 3,200 Meter Run (9:56.35)

• Harrisburg’s Beau Karst won the Pole Vault (14-3)

Girls Results: 

• O’Gorman distance standouts Libby Castelli (5:04.63) and Ruth Pardy (5:06.2) took the top two places in the girls Mile. 

• Harrisburg’s Kiah Boetel won the pole vault (10-6)

• O’Gorman’s Maeve Boetel won the triple jump (34-11)

West River AA Preview

Boys Results: 

• Defending Class AA state champion Jaden Guthmiller of Spearfish opened his season by winning the 100 Meter Dash (10.71).

• Simeon Birnbaum of Rapid City Stevens won the 800 Meter Run (1:53.69) and 1,600 Meter Run (4:14.72)

• Sturgis athlete Aidan Hedderman won the 110 Meter Hurdles (15.43) and Pole Vault (12-0)

Girls Results: 

• Spearfish’s Anna Hoffman won the 200 Meter Dash (27.25) the 100 Meter Hurdles (15.74) and the 300 Meter Hurdles (49.41)

• Brionna Holso of Rapid City Stevens on the 800 Meter Run (2:24.23) and 1,600 Meter Run (5:14.33)

• Rebecca Thies of Rapid City Stevens on the Long Jump (16-9) and Triple Jump (35-2)
