BOX ELDER — The Spearfish track and field teams captured the Black Hills Conference track and field titles on Friday. 

The Spartan boys finished with 172 points, followed by Sturgis (150.5) and Douglas (98.5). The Spearfish girls won the team title with 179 points, just edging out Custer (174). 

On the boys side, Spearfish’s Keenan Urdiales was a triple winner in the 800-meter run (2:04.63), 1,600-meter run (4:20.05) and 3,200-meter run (10:16.37). 

Spearfish’s Jaden Guthmiller (200-meter dash) and Brayden Delahoyde (high jump) also claimed first-place finishes. 

Douglas’ Jason Maciejczak was a double winner in the discus (163-2) and shot put (58-6). 

Custer’s Blake Boyster won the 100-meter dash (:10.84) and 400-meter dash (:49.28), while he placed second in the 200-meter dash (:23.45). 

Rapid City Christian’s Chase Maher won the pole vault (15-00), a leap that is exactly one-foot better than his previous best. 

For the girls, Spearfish’s Anna Hoffman won the 100-meter hurdles (:15.97) and 300-meter hurdles (:48.57).

Spearfish’s Peyton VanDeest (3,200-meter run), Avery Kirk (high jump), Sofie Guthmiller (long jump) and Sophey Spraitz (javelin) also captured first-place finishes. VanDeest also placed second in the 1,600-meter run behind Red Cloud’s Jade Ecoffey, who won the 3,200-meter run. 

Custer's Josey Wahlstrom was a double winner in the 200-meter dash (1:00.01), the 200-meter dash (:27.20) and placed second in the 100-meter dash (:12.76). 

Custer’s Kellyn Kortemeyer won the shot put (43-10) and discus (140-5).
