Timber Lake sweeps Little Moreau Conference track and field championships

LEMMON — Timber Lake captured team titles at Monday’s Little Moreau Conference track and field meet. 

The Timber Lake girls recorded 165 points, pulling away from Newell (163) for the team title. The Panthers and Irrigators were tied (157) entering the 1,600-meter relay, the final event of the day. Timber Lake placed second in 4:28.83, just ahead of Newell (4:29.94) to earn the conference championship. 

The Timber Lake boys scored 183 points, finishing ahead of Lemmon (101) and Faith (98). 

In girls action, Timber Lake’s Shay Kraft claimed first-place finishes in the 100-meter dash (:13.12), 200-meter dash (:26.99) and 400-meter dash (1:03.15). Kraft also anchored Timber Lake’s winning 400-meter relay team (:53.04). 

Timber Lake’s Jasmine Nash won the shot put (33-7.5) and placed second in the discus (101-6.5). 

Timber Lake’s Natalie Lawrence won the 800-meter run (2:35.59). Timber Lake also won the 800-meter relay (1:58.48). 

Harding County’s Jozi Schuchard won the 100-meter hurdles (:16.85) and placed second in the 300-meter hurdles (:51.24). 

In boys action, Timber Lake’s Gracen Hansen won the 300-meter hurdles (:41.49) and placed second in the triple jump (38-1.5). 

Timber Lake’s Eddie Keller (long jump, 19-5), Holden Gill (800-meter run, 2:19.50) and Gavin Farlee (200-meter dash, :23.69) also captured first-place finishes for the Panthers. 

Timber Lake won the 400-meter relay (:46.27), 1,600-meter relay (3:41.96) and sprint medley relay (4:24.59). 

Faith’s Rylan Palmer was a double winner in the 100-meter dash (:11.89) and 400-meter dash (:52.81). Palmer also placed second in the 200-meter dash (:23.84). Palmer was also a member of Faith’s winning 800-meter relay (1:36.89). 

Lemmon’s Blair Ham captured first-place finishes in the discus (130-6.5) and shot put (38-4.75). 

Newell’s Clint Winkler won the 1,600-meter run (5:28.64) and 3,200-meter run (12:33.80).
