Timber Lake teams capture Region 8B track and field titles

LEMMON — Timber Lake swept the Region 8B track and field titles on Thursday.

The Panther boys finished with 212 points, finishing well ahead of second-place Faith (115). The Timber Lake girls recorded 146.5 points, edging Newell (139) for the team title. 

On the boys side, Timber Lake’s Hank Kraft won the 100-meter dash (:11.2), 200-meter dash (:24.14) and shot put (47-8.5), 

Timber Lake’s Caleb Bieber (400-meter dash), Chazz Gabe (300-meter hurdles), Dixon Booth (high jump) and Carter Keller (long jump) also earned first-place finishes. 

Bison’s Lane Krautschun was a double winner in the 800-meter run (2:09.41) and 1,600-meter run (4:48.06). 

Faith’s Corbin Mackaben won the triple jump (39-9), while he cleared 11-6 to finish in a first-place in the pole vault with Lemmon’s Cord Beer. 

Timber Lake won the 400-meter relay, 800-meter relay, 1,600-meter relay and sprint medley relay. 

On the girls side, Timber Lake’s Averie Marshall won the 100-meter dash (:13.4), while the Panthers earned first-place finishes in the 400-meter relay and 800-meter relay. 

Bison’s Taylor Thompson was a double winner in the shot put (33-9) and discus (98-5).
